Day 1: Arrival Ha
Noi
Arrive in Noi Bai Airport (35km from
downtown Ha Noi), our guide will greet you. An orientation tour of Ha
Noi will follow.
This capital of 3 million inhabitants combines an old world charm with
its colonial houses and the intriguing liveliness of the Old Quarter.
Enjoy Vietnamese specialties dinner. Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 2: Ha Noi -
Ninh Binh - Ha Noi
Day trip to Ninh Binh, 120km south of Ha
Noi, known as "Ha Long Bay on Land". Small boat cruise in Tam Coc
("Three Grottoes") where rice paddy fields and sugar loaf mountains
spruce up. Visit Thai Vi Temple dedicated to the Tran Kings. Return to
Ha Noi. Visit Dich Long Pagoda. Dinner and overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 3: Ha Noi - Ha
Long Bay
Transfer to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site. Enjoy a leisurely boat trip through the bay stopping to
explore some of the many islands, caves and grottoes. Freshly caught
seafood lunch on board. Dinner and overnight in Ha Long.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay
- Bac Ninh - Ha Noi
Drive to Bac Ninh Province and visit to
Quan Ho village, the cradle of Vietnam traditional music and theatre.
Enjoy a special music performance by the locals in the temple. Lunch at
local restaurant. Return to Ha Noi and evening is at leisure. Dinner and
overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 5: Ha Noi -
Hue
Transfer to airport for flight to the
Imperial city of Hue where you will be met and transferred to your
hotel, the charming French colonial building in the heart of Hue. Guided
visit to the Imperial city and sightseeing in Hue includes Hue Citadel,
Dong Ba Market and Truong Tien Bridge. Lunch during visits. Evening
enjoy Ca Hue (performance of traditional music on the boat) on the
Perfume River.
Day 6: Hue
In the morning, take a superb cruise on the
Perfume River while visiting a craft village where conical hats are
made. Stop for a visit of the Thien Mu Pagoda (Old Celestial Goddess
Pagoda) perched on top a hill overlooking the Perfume River and Minh
Mang (1820-1841) Tomb with its solemn architecture and elegant
sculptures in a natural setting. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the
afternoon, visit the imperial tomb of Tu Duc (1848-1883) built by 3,000
workers from 1864 to 1867. This funeral complex resembles a miniature
palace. Next, visit the Tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh (1916-1925), combining
traditional Vietnamese architecture with Western influences. "Lantern
Game" dinner on board a boat cruise on the Perfume River accompanied by
singers and musicians. Overnight in Hue.
Day 7: Hue - Lang
Co Beach - Hoi An
Transfer to the ancient town of Hoi An via
the breathtaking Hai Van Pass. Lunch en route at Lang Co fishing
village. Upon arrival in Hoi An, walk to the old streets of Hoi An where
the mix of Japanese and Chinese architecture reflects its past history
as an important trading port. Dinner and overnight in Hoi An.
Day 8: Hoi An - Da
Nang - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Transfer to Da Nang Airport for flight to
Ho Chi Minh City. Meet then transfer to downtown for check-in at hotel.
Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon half-day city tour will include an
orientation tour of Saigon’s main boulevards, Notre Dame Cathedral, the
splendid Post Office and the bustling Ben Thanh Market. Dinner and
overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day
9: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City
Early morning departure for Cai Be to take
a small boat cruise among the floating markets while passing by ancient
stilt houses. Arrive in Vinh Long, in the heart of the Nine Dragons
Delta, poetic name of the Mekong Delta. Visit arroyos, unique labyrinth
of small canals overshadowed by coconut trees. Discreet villages,
pirogues full of peasants, monks and school children create an
interesting atmosphere. Lunch in a traditional house. Return to Ho Chi
Minh City. Dinner and overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 10: Ho Chi
Minh City - Siem Reap
Morning flight to Siem Reap. Start the
visit of Angkor: the Southern Door and its statues. In the afternoon,
discover the monuments of the "small circuit":
Prasat Kravan, Banteay
Kdei and Sras Srang, Takeo and especially Ta Prohohm, prisoner of the
jungle yet romantic and magical. Dinner and overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 11: Temples of
Angkor
Visit the grand Angkor Thom and its
Elephants terrace and Baphuon. Discover the monuments of the "Grand
circuit": Preah Khan monastery and Neak Pean. In the afternoon, visit
Angkor Wat, a masterpiece of Khmer art. Dinner and overnight in Siem
Reap.
Day 12: Siem Reap
- Departure
Morning walk through the picturesque market
of Siem Reap and short visit of Roluos group of temples. Transfer to
airport for your next departure. |
