Depart from Hue in the morning; we will take one hour to come to the village. Upon arrival, we join in activities: by bicycle or on foot around the village to visit ancient houses, traditional handcrafts such: rice flour making, hand-made pottery (nowadays, the production has not been as frequent as before and to help you learn more, we will get an artisan talk about its history)
Have lunch at a cozy local home (Nha Ruong) severed with home–grown materials. With the help of our guide will help you learn more about Vietnamese’s village culture when having up-close interaction with the friendly and hospitable host expectedly.
Take break and walk around the village to view the charming scenery, communal houses, river wharfs, Cham culture vestiges remain. The recommended activity such as meet and talk with locals. By strolling along O Lau River, the village facilitator and our guide will help you know more about the village’s and O Lau River’s geographic location that is one of the three largest rivers in Hue going to Tam Giang Lagoon, the biggest one in the Southeast Asia area. (Boating on the river also can be arranged if requested with a surcharge of US$ 10 for one local boat)
End of the program and driving back to Hue.

2. Half day and a night-stay program:

3. Welcome the Vietnamese Tet Festivities in Phuoc Tich
The special visiting trip to Phuoc Tich Village is designed open and flexible, which it is aimed to help you have the most comfortable feeling in order to explore fully and immerse yourself in this profoundly traditional culture feature. The fete is of extremely important significance in the spirit and is the most scared event of Vietnamese in a year called by a loved name TET. In addition, you will visit the old village is of cultural value and art architecture with the hundred year relics such as old wooden houses (Nha Ruong), communal houses for the worship, old pottery making handcraft, Cham relics and twelve river wharfs embellished by the beautiful nature scenery idyllically.
The villagers do not only preserve the cultural and historical values but also they retain the traditional lifestyles and customs, especially is on the occasion of the traditional Tet days. Tet is known as at the first morning of the New Year’s first day by the lunar calendar.
Coming to Phuoc Tich during the pre-Tet days, you will be soaking in the Tet atmosphere very festive. With the help of our guide and local facilitator, you will learn about the once-upon-a-year activities of preparing for the Tet holidays.
Stroll on winding alleys to visit the historical sites, an old pottery kiln. The pottery making has not been as frequent as before due to the drawbacks and to help you learn more, we will get an artisan talk about its history. At the same time, you will meet and have contacts with friendly locals. Seeing up close the households are busy at making the food specialties such as square Earth cake (call Banh Chung, a “must” during Tet and symbol of the earth), Banh Tet (round shaped glutinous rice cake), pickled vegetables, many kind of preserved jams of fruit…used for sale and self-sufficiency;
Tet is also an opportunity so that they decorate their houses and ancestral altar. You will be heard about the origin, legend and the reason why they have to do these activities.
By bicycle, riding to the Phuoc Tich local market (1km far from the center) to explore more the colorful Tet atmosphere, selling & buying activities of the locals in preparation for the great fete days.
The small village with quaint antiques is the place you can feel truly the tastes of Vietnamese traditional Tet. Be with us to join this meaningful trip of cultural experience!
